I think that, in an ideal world, everyone would just act naturally and not worry about whether that was 'right' for their gender. Obviously, this isn't likely to happen any time in the near future. I understand what you're saying, Milki, about disliking feigned masculinity for the sake of social/political gain. I think that, when someone puts on a persona of any sort for some sort of political or social purpose, it's pretty irritating. And I think it's awful that there's an attitude that 'acting feminine' somehow makes you less of a strong woman and a feminist. I do think that there are certain women who just naturally happen to gravitate more to the butch end of the spectrum. I also definitely realize that there are some really gorgeous feminine women. I just happen to be more attracted to women who are not so feminine.

If I am with a guy, he usually is a bearded manly man. Or a massive J-nerd. If I am with a woman, she is usually eminine, but tough, too. . I am about as feminine as they come. I rarely wear pants. But I am tough, I guess. I am usually attracted to 'I'll cut your fucking face if you have a problem with me' scary punk types.

i just come back from theatre and saw "laramie's project" which deals with the murder of matthew shepard due to his homosexuality and some extract mentionned "you know he was gay! gay? yeah he acts gay, he's a queen!"
it reminds me this party two weeks ago, where i was (as always) 50's dressed and was hardly insulted by mens who told me "how could you be a feminist dressed like a 50 desperate housewive"

think it's really hard to be what we are with the representation and our soul, my body isn't a politic weapon, i have my brain for that. That's why i say that the show must go on, as each time i see feminist woman afraid to wear heels...

ps: there is so much gay in this forum. Is this the sensible cliché of music lovers?

Well, everyone automatically embodies something. It's kind of impossible not to use your body as a political weapon - your body and your self-presentation communicate a lot, and you decide what they communicate on a subconscious level at least.

And it doesn't work with my whole 'let's go nap in a forest and look for bones, but if you piss me off, i'll curb stomp you.' attitude. He was too low energy. I know what you mean, Milki, my body is merely something for me to decorate. it in no way advertises my views. At least, not consciously.

I also am thoroughly convinced that if Jordan were straight, and I were Scottish, we'd make a great couple. We seem to have much in common.
