The Butterfly Effect

The stems are still,the day is dark
the Nymphs in nest and hardly hark
and but one birds alone in lark
upon a bodhi's barren bark,

On high the halls of heaven arc
swarth and stale shines their spark
for butterflies of many mark

ebb the eve in swarm so stark

they whorl their wings amidst the hush
so many pairs bat and brush

Be Helicon or the Hindu Kush
a rising sun reigns in lush
and all the folks flock and crush
where butterflies fly and flush

All drawn drapes become unsealed
for though the nimbus nigh are peeled
no bolt of blue is bare revealed,

Soldiers stout with sword and shield
doth surrender, swoon and yield
the ploughers of the paddy field
halt their hoes and hale kneeled.

The hundred hues Helios projects
upon their patterns do collect
visage-stippled,verdant-specked
mottled-marble,vesper- checked,

Oh their showers,shine reflect
across the rivers hundred necked
upon the steamers many decked
straights and sandbar galley wrecked
....no other time so perfect,
the butterflies are in effect.

Beauty,chaos time and vim
with the currents we all swim
but who has need for seraphim
