OK, definitely high-functioning! I've known several people who got a lot more work done, and better, if they'd been drinking. I was never one of those.

I'm pretty high-functioning up to a point, after which I get stupid and clumsy and incompetent. It's a good thing it's socially acceptable to embarrass yourself when you're pished.

In some places more than others. One of the places I lived in Germany was a village called Ruppertsweiller. It wasn't unusual there to see the occasional drunk who didn't make it home from the local Gasthaus on his first try. Sometimes they didn't even make it out of the parking lot. I'm not sure how many times I saw someone curled up on the sidewalk, in the gutter, or even in the street. That last one is the only time that I think anyone bothered them, and that was just to make sure they didn't get run over. I loved living there!

So things between me and the guy I liked really fucked up. Kinda realisation that it wasn't really going to go anywhere and a lot of 'doing the right thing' commenced in the form of us halting our relations. Re-confronting loneliness is really unpleasant. And I don't have anyone to talk to here. So yeah, not so happy.

I'm kind of in the same situation. Stuck at home while all my friends are at university, no one in life, only people I see on a regular basis are my parents and I don't really interact much with them, either.

I am in the same situation. Most of my day is spent alone from early morning till late at night. I hope I find some work soon, think it will do me the world of good.

I actually live with my 4 best friends, and have a really close-knit friendship group which I'm very happy with, as well as my family. I'm pretty much set in terms of people to talk to whenever I need. Just didn't feel that way last night. Anyway I actually had a chat with the guy and changed his mind so I'm pretty happy, guess I'll just see how things go.

Aside from Kenny, I spend most of my time with my mother's friends.After I moved in August, I hit my loneliness high score. I literally had NO friends here. I was at my lowest point in my life ever. I totally know how you feel, Jordan. hugs all around.

Probably going to Australia first if I didn't lose my frickin passport, but I would like to visit them to. Really, just going to America would be more fun, but the drinking age is 21 and my parents are reluctant to dump me in the USA and leave me to my own devices. Why not? Those are basically the instructions on the Statue of Liberty - "give me your huddled masses yearning to be free" and all.

I wrote about my best friend many times before, standard fare. I really loved this guy, I can safely say he's the biggest love in my life at this point. He got his first girlfriend this week and right now they're sharing a bed for their first time... In my house.

I should feel happy for him but I don't. I feel awful right now. It's past 4 a.m and I still can't sleep. My eyes are stinging from being tired, my eyelids are heavy but I just can't fall asleep.

I've told him time and time again how I felt about him and now I feel like I have certain desires and needs that he's no longer able to fulfill. I don't think we can continue to have the relationship we've had (which was a strange one, but always made me feel happy) which pains me terribly. I think I'll want to distance myself from him, although right now it doesn't feel my feelings for him will subside.

I think I'm really quite sad right now. He won't understand why I'm reacting the way I am but it was inevitable.

Hopefully one of you can wave your magic wand and make my little booboo go away, eh?
