Hahaha, I'm Facebook friends with someone who, when she's angry, airs all her dirty laundry -- and then deletes it. Example:
status: "YOUR [sic] DEAD TO ME" a friend: what's wrong? her response: "My husband fucked a hooker in Mexico!!! I HATE HIM!!!" (Dead serious that she posted that online.)
Her and her husband fight on Facebook about really private matters, tons of people comment supporting her, and then the next day it's gone.
So, the other night I blocked and deleted my ex who dumped me about 18 months ago now on everything I had him on. I didn't explain anything to him, I wanted to just disappear. Basically I saw some things I'd really rather not have seen, and I thought it was ridiculous how murderously angry it made me feel; I had to get drunk to calm down, and then I just felt miserable. It's been a year and a half and I don't even love him anymore. I figured the reason I still cared so much was because I'd been speaking to him every day since then, trying to be just friends and not really managing. Not on my end, anyway. Anyhow, I felt kind of glum afterwards - his absence was pretty palpable today and yesterday night, and I'm definitely going to miss him as a friend, but by now I had mostly managed to take my mind off it. Apparently I just removed him on AIM, and forgot to block him, so he just spoke to me saying that he was feeling down. I asked him why, and he didn't really reply, I guess because it was obvious that I'd unfriended him on Facebook, blocked him on MSN and YIM, etc. - when we were together I tried to have as many lines of contact to him as possible, so there were a lot of things to block off. Anyway, I had to explain to him that I had blocked him on everything and why, and he just kept saying, "alright", "alright, then". I said goodbye to him but I couldn't stand to see whether or not he'd reply in kind, so I blocked him right away. And I guess that's it forever. Chances are I'll never speak to him again. I don't know if it's just not sunk in, but I don't feel so bad. I just hope I forget about him.
ex serious girlfriend emailed, just to let me know shes moving in with her new boyfriend other ex emailed, to let me know she started dating one of my best friends.
both knew i was on vacation, in europe. BUT! they just wanted to make sure i heard it from them.
I've been having trouble sleeping in general and I can feel the functionality of my brain declining. I nearly missed my stop on the bus yesterday (on my way HOME...as in the stop was practically right in front of my street and I was so spaced out I didn't even realize it?!), slammed my finger in a drawer, and have generally been having difficulty comprehending and solving simple problems. Sleep deprivation is like being drunk without the fun.
I'm on my first business trip ever, which is weird cause I'm 20 and a student, but got hooked up with this job by my parents. Plus side is I get decent pay, with food hotel and gas paid for, but I also have to spend 8 days in a city 4 hours away from home by myself. I'm working with 4 other people, the youngest of whom is 20 years older than me. I feel so out of place. We all went out to dinner where I didn't really have much to contribute to the conversation since they were all talking about their kids and grandkids.
What we do is go to a college campus and buy back textbooks from students. Easy stuff. Since all of the work is pretty quick little snippets of interaction (take books, scan on computer, grab appropriate amount of cash, then put books on cart), my brain is stuck in short attention span mode. I brought a bunch of books for when I'm off for the day, but this attention span isn't good for reading. I miss home.
If it's any consolation, I wish I was on a business trip in a strange city. I've been in bed for... probably between a week and ten days now. At first I was ill, but my proper computer's away for repairs (it's late because everything is under about six miles of pack ice, freakin' winter) and I don't really have any incentive to go downstairs. I feel lazy and bored and I miss speaking to people who aren't related to me.
I haven't even bothered getting dressed. I'm telling myself I'm like Stephen Tennant until the snow melts. But Stephen Tennant was beautiful and rich and went to wonderful parties, I'm just someone who hasn't gotten out of bed in a week.
We only really get a heavy snow fall once a year, too. Also, you live in Georgia? Is Jack McBrayer actually from Georgia? Sorry if I sound like the drunk guy in that bar, but this is kinda priceless. Anyway, yeah, I've never seen it deeper than it is just now, neither has my mum. My dad's nonplussed, but he's an incorrigible cynic and he hates the fuss people make about a few inches of snow, though by now it's more than a foot. Which is crazy. Some years we don't get any at all, some years we only get a dusting. The sickness was a respiratory infection I picked up in my first week at university that resulted in me having to leave until the start of next year. Basically, "freshers' flu" is infamous - universities are a melting pot of germs from all over the country, so when you factor in that everyone's immune system gets destroyed by heavy drinking, the result is that everyone gets sick. For some reason I stayed sick. I'm never sick - I missed maybe two weeks of school in 18 years, and maybe two days of that was because I was actually sick and not just faking. Anyway, it stuck around in the form of a really bad cough I couldn't clear, and I was too busy to see a GP or anything, so it just got worse and kept me from sleeping, so I couldn't work properly and I started falling behind. If you fall behind at Cambridge and you don't catch up in a couple of days, you're not going to have a fun term. By the fifth week, I had a ridiculous backlog of work and people high up were starting to talk to eachother and the stress was driving me crazy - not fun crazy either, miserable, destroyed self confidence crazy - and I ended up degrading, which was really the least bad option. Which is why I'm a shut-in now. Well, I'd be a shut-in downstairs if it weren't for the fact that when I got home, the infection went apeshit and spread to my trachea, my bronchi, my tonsils and my throat and gave me a temperature of 40 and a splitting headache and made me feel generally like I was dying. I was bedbound for a while and I kinda got used to it. Everyone else I know is at university, and I could maybe visit them were it not for the fact that we're suddenly being glaciated. Sorry for the life story, I'm bored as hell.
Oh God, Ursula! We're on the same sleeping pattern! It's AWFUL isn't it?
I'm such a shut-in right now (although for reasons not as dire as yours, Jordan... Pauvre 'tit choux...). All my pals are busy with school/work so I'm trapped in the house like the Lady of Shalott in her tower.
On the plus side, I've become good at baking and managed to get a miniature rose to survive indoors! Linzer cookie anyone?
