Well just so you know, I'm flying into San Fransisco, then meeting a friend who's been living in Santa Cruz. We're going to be travelling in an RV (yay) to San Fran, past Yosemite and Death Valley with some places in between. Then to Vegas, Utah (the arches look amazing). After that Arizona, the Grand Canyon and Arcosanti. Then to New Mexico (by public transport unfortunately), through White Sands and Carlsbad to Santa Fe. Then we fly to New Orleans where we're staying for a week. I'm super excited

San Francisco is on the west coast? Why didn't someone tell me that before? And, I've been to SF a couple of times, and I can't say that I met anyone there who was obviously gay. People should have to wear name tags that say something like "Hi! I'm Will Davis, and I'm 62 years-old, straight, American of European and Native American ancestry, and have no religious preference." There should also be signs posted around SF saying "This city is on the west coast." How else are visitors supposed to know?

Oh, and on a serious note, I forgot to mention for those I haven't already told, that one of my uncles lived in SF for several decades, and with a last name of Gay, and a first name that rhymed, it seems only fitting that he should be gay.
